It's weird buying an apartment with a boy. I never really thought the day would arrive but, oh, it has. We found an apartment yesterday that just is perfect for us. It is ours.
Props to Karlie for the sporadic star placement. We all know I would've stood there for hours planning every little space and angle. It was a good job for her. The other picture is my little instrument wall with the shelves of instruments below. We also cleaned out the entire 'just throw it all in there and we'll go thru it sometime which actually means never' closet. I think every teacher has one.
The other day was one of those days where I kept thinking, "I hope I'm never like that when I'm older." I hope I'm always willing to listen to new ideas and new ways of doing things. On Sunday, we had a rapper lead our worship at church. Some might've found it offensive and inappropriate. I found it refreshing. How wonderful to be a church that will embrace other art forms for the purpose of worship. Now, truly, this isn't about music or rap or old people or young people. This is about being an open-minded and understanding person. I hope to always be one to accept people different than me and ideas different than mine. We might all just learn a bit more that way.
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
