hawaiian bbq chicken

Oh my.  This was the easiest recipe and it was SO good.  Please do yourself a favor and make it this week.

(Picture was taken from this website where I got the recipe.)

You can look on that website for their exact recipe, but here is what I did.

3 chicken breasts
Almost a full 18 oz. bottle of Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce
1 20 oz. can of pineapple chunks, drained

Throw it all in the crock pot!  After it's been in for awhile, shred the chicken with 2 forks so the chicken gets completely coated in sauce.  I put mine on low for a little over 5 hours and it was perfect.  Cook a little white rice to go with it and you've got a very yummy and filling meal.

The BBQ sauce was 2 for $1, the can of pineapple chunks was about .80 and the chicken breasts were about $5.50.  I already had white rice, which is something I usually keep around as a staple.  So, the grand total for this meal for two (with some leftover) was about $6.80.  Ta da!

  1. I've been seeing this recipe all over Pinterest and the blogosphere and must try it! Glad to know it's actually good.

  2. That sounds yummy and so cheap!! Thanks for sharing, Claire!

  3. We ARE thinking along the same lines! I will definitely try this - I'm so glad we can share easy, cheap recipes!
