letters to duke - 1 month
November 22, 2011
You are 1 month old and, boy, what a crazy one it was. You woke up a lot during the night those first 2-3 weeks and then you gradually started giving us longer stretches of sleep. After a month, we can pretty much plan on you doing a 5-6 hour stretch followed by a 4 hour stretch in between feedings at night. During the day, you eat about every 2 1/2 or 3 hours.
You make some really fun noises! You have started focusing on various places in the room and you love looking at lights and ceiling fans. It doesn't take much to entertain you. You don't need your bouncer or rocker ... just a blanket to lay on so you can kick your feet!
Your first month was filled with temperatures in the 70s, freezing nights, tornados, crazy thunderstorms, and earthquakes. Welcome to Oklahoma!
I love holding and playing with your hands, your eyes are so wonderful to look into, and your hair is just amazing! Our moments in the night together have gotten sweeter and sweeter. I sit in your nursery and just can't believe that you are my son. I feel so blessed to have you.
