See why I started this little series here.
What: Sheer Top
Purchased: Thrift Store
Considerations: Something has to be worn underneath it. It's kind of an in-between-sy length ... definitely not long enough to be a dress (especially not on an almost 5'10 girl).
I thought it was cute and I figured I'd wear it while I was pregnant. But my belly got too big and I never wore it.
(This is where you come in!) Do I wear it or not? If yes, how do I wear it?
I would wear it with a white tank top, skinny jeans, and flats. I think the shirt is very cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll have to try it!
DeleteSkinny jeans, cami, cardigan and sandals. That is what I would do and top it of with come bangles.
ReplyDeleteI like the bangles idea!
DeleteDefinitely skinny jeans or jeggins with a white tank underneath. I feel like white jeans would be cute with it too, but I don't have any of those - maybe you do?
ReplyDeleteI wish I did have white jeans ... maybe I'll start looking for some!
DeleteOkay, so I'm probably the odd-woman-out with this suggestion. But, recently I've like pairing tops like this with a high-waisted pencil skirt and tank (or strapless dress). Then use a fun belt at your natural waist. You've got pretty long legs, would be pretty to wear a skirt for summer!
ReplyDeleteI do have a pencil skirt! Now, are you saying to tuck this top into the pencil skirt? (My lack of fashion sense lends for questions like this. :))
DeleteHa, no, go ahead and wear the top over the pencil skirt...tuck the tank in though. Then wear the belt over the top. Make sense? Gosh, I would love to have your long limbs, you can pull anything off!
DeleteYes, makes perfect sense! Okay, I'm going to try it!
Deleteyou could actually do several different colors of tanks under this shirt, wear with skirts, pants shorts or leggings of some sort would look super cute
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Thanks!
DeleteExcellent suggestions above, I think this would particularly pop with a white cami and black leggings.
ReplyDeleteQuestion that is kind of off topic but when you mentioned where you got it I wanted to ask: What thrift store(s) do you go to for clothes? I've tried to thrift store shop but have been in some real...err, not so good places.
haha Yes, they can sometimes be in shady places. I think I got this specific top at the Goodwill on Macarthur and 50th. You might also check the thrift stores I listed in this post: http://www.mydevising.com/2010/07/being-thrifty-is-nifty.html
DeleteHope you have some luck!
Late reply, but thank you! :) I'm going to be buying furniture soon so the post you linked is particularly helpful. :)
DeleteI'm glad! I hope you find some good things!
DeleteI liked this top, I just messed up when I ordered it, I need a large & not an X-sm lol
