happy thanksgiving, you've got salmonella

Holidays with kids are so crazy blah blah blah.

BUT YOU GUYS.  Seriously.

Thanksgiving almost sent me straight to the insane asylum.  Nova took short naps and Duke ended up needing an enema.  I mean, if that doesn't say Happy Thanksgiving then I don't know what does.  (In all seriousness though, it was one of the saddest moments in my short parenting career.  It was awful, but it had to be done.  I think we're back to our usual toilet activity, so that's nice.)

Before we spent time with each of our families, we had a Friendsgiving with some wonderful people.  Colt's parents kept the kids for the afternoon/evening, so we not only got to be kid-less for the party, but also for the cleaning and prep.  I forgot how quickly I can do things when I don't have little people to serve and undo things!

(Sara worked her quick magic and threw something together for the center of the table.  I filled frames and hung really awesome pictures of all of us from our college days together.)

We ate a lot of yummy food.  The only not yummy things were the ginormous stuffed chicken breasts Colt purchased.  They took a million minutes longer to bake than the deli guy said.  Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until raw chicken was already sitting on everyone's plates.  Happy Thanksgiving, you've got salmonella!  Thankfully, there were many other delicious side dishes to fill our bellies.

I'm so thankful for the friends and family in my life.  I'm thankful that they get me, and they love me and my crazy.  I'm especially thankful for this guy.  He is my constant dose of stability and my life is so full because of him.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
