letters to veda - 12 months
March 10, 2018
You are one year old, my sweet girl!
You've had 2 more teeth come in and I can tell another one is on its way. You are a great eater and I can't believe I'm saying this about one of my children, but you actually like and are drinking milk! In the next week or so, we'll cut out your last remaining bottle, the bedtime bottle. You weigh 22 lbs. 15 oz. (88%) and are 31.5 in. long (99%).
You are sleeping 12 hours at night. You take 2 naps most days, but on Sundays and Wednesdays (due to church and Bible study), you take 1. You do pretty well with 1 nap, but I know you're not quite ready to do that every day of the week. In the next couple of months, I'm sure we'll be down to 1 nap though and I'm really excited about it!
You love to babble and repeat words and sounds that we make. My favorites are "ba" (bath), "t" (hot), and "mmm-ah" (the sound we make when we give you kisses). You love to play peek-a-boo and crawl around on the floor as we chase you. You're pulling up and walking around the furniture, but no steps on your own yet. Just in the past week, you've started to become more interested in books and looking at all of the pictures.
It has been quite a year! In some ways it feels like it lasted forever, and in other ways it feels like it happened in an instant. You are a beautiful last puzzle piece to our family. Your smile, joy, laughs, and tender sweetness have been a gift to all of us. We love you, little Veda.
