just half a cup

I've mentioned my obsession with "Alice in Wonderland" here.  I can't possibly explain my love for the story in one thorough writing session, so I'm sure to offer bits and pieces along the way.  Here is one ...

My charming thrift store find yesterday ...

.99 cents and hey, my mom bought it for me!

I saw this little guy sitting on the shelf facing me and immediately played this scene in my head:

Alice: I was sitting on the riverbank with uh... with you know who... 
Mad Hatter: I DO? 
Alice: I mean my C-A-T. 
Mad Hatter: Tea? 
March Hare: [slices a tea cup in half] Just half a cup, if you don't mind. 

Ah, isn't it just perfect!?  It was waiting for me to find it a home.  A home in a dining room where all things Alice are welcome.  So, here it sits. :)
