I don't want a boyfriend right now because I have a husband, BUT don't you remember this feeling? Or maybe you still have it. There's something about this time of year that brings out the loneliness. In high school, all I ever wanted was to have a boyfriend during Christmas time.
One year, it happened. It was my first boyfriend ever. (Don't worry, it was over by the time the next December rolled around. :)) But, he called me one night and told me to go to my front porch. After the ridiculous flirting of, "Why? Like, I don't get it! Why??" I finally went outside. There was a little stuffed bear sitting in a gift bag looking at me. Funny how you think stuffed animals are stupid and then, a boy gives it to you and it becomes the coolest thing ever. I calmly walked back inside, went into my room, and probably let out some sort of scream.
So, why the loneliness? I'm not really sure except that it has something to do with lit Christmas trees, snow falling, making fires, romantic comedies, and songs like 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' all combined into one. That can make a girl pretty sappy.
So, if you have someone to share this season with, enjoy every little moment.
