25th birthday celebration continued

Reese, Sara, and I plan a little something for each other's birthdays every year and this past Saturday was the day we celebrated mine.  It was the ultimate pregnant woman birthday.

We began our day with brunch at La Baguette, which was very yummy.  Breakfast food is my favorite.  Sitting next to/listening to 'sorority girl and friends' was not my favorite, but it was funny.  I opened 2 presents, which were a lovely maternity dress and a book entitled, "I Judge You When You Use Poor Grammar."  Perfect.

After brunch, we were off to get pedicures at the mall.  I am at that point where when I reach for my feet, I feel elbows in my stomach.  I mean, it might not really be his elbows jabbing at me, but that's the feeling I get.  Either way, I don't think he likes it.  Painting my own toenails would be a joke.

Can you guess which paint color goes with which person?

Oh, and Reese made us friendship bracelets, which we exchanged on this day as well.  Can you guess which friendship bracelet goes with which person?

From here, we drove a bit and pulled up to Bella Strada ... a really fancy spa that I couldn't even believe I was walking into.  We were getting facials!  I've never had a facial but I've always wanted to know what they were like.  The lotions, scrubs, massages, scents ... it was glorious.  We even got to wait in a fancy little room with FOOD!  Chocolates, granola bars, gardettos, and peanuts ... mmm.

After the facials, they wanted to take me to dinner but hadn't decided on where.  I picked Yamato because I'm predictable and always pick the same place.  We sat and discussed what our favorite kinds of lettuce were before we realized ... we're sitting in a spa, facials complete, snacks consumed, robes on, dinner location decided, and we're talking about our lettuce preference.  We laughed hard and then we headed to dinner.

After dinner, we went to Sara's house to lay around, rediscover AIM, sing a little Marcy Playground, and make Sara bake us shortbread cookies.

So, for 2011 birthdays, we had a Royal Birthday Party for Reese with a few friends (where we dressed up and watched the royal wedding), a Circus Birthday party for Sara with a lot of friends (complete with sno cones, hot dogs, cotton candy and much more), and a Day at the Spa Birthday Party for me with just the 3 of us.  I am lucky to have such wonderful people in my life. :)

  1. So wonderful to have special friends in your life. I have several wonderful friends from high school that I am still in contact with, one in particular that I see fairly frequently - my best friend - we have been friends for 44 years.
I hope that when you get to be my age, you & Sara & Reese are still doing "birthday days" with each other. There is nothing that is more special than true friends. Happy Birthday!
