weekend review - swinging, dating, and running

Friday afternoon was the best start to the weekend a mom could ask for.  I sat outside on our porch swing with Duke for 1.5 hours.  Yes, he sat still that long and no, he wasn't asleep!  We cuddled up inside a blanket, rocked back and forth, and just soaked in all of the cool air and fall-ness of the day.  It was so wonderful.

That night Colt and I went on a much needed and long overdue date.  We had dinner at Sushi Neko, dessert at Cuppies, and then walked around the Myriad Gardens.  It was a perfectly cool and foggy evening for a walk.

We walked past "I love Crystal" written in the dirt.  So, naturally, Colt added "meth" to the end of the sentence.  And then I took a picture of him taking a picture of it.

On Saturday, we had Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.  Living 2 minutes away is so dangerous.  But before we consumed our yummy donuts, we went for a 1.5 mile run followed by about a 30ish minute walk.  So maybe that cancels something out.  And I know that distance isn't anything to be proud of, but I haven't run since the half marathon back in April.  (Oops.)  Needless to say, my legs were sore on Sunday.  It felt good to run again though, so I'm really going to try to fit it in 2-3 times a week ... starting next week.

I got this little picture of my boy's feetsies in the bath on Sunday.  It's indescribable how much I love him.

Well, my week will be filled with yet another project.  It involves woodwork and white paint.  Can't wait to share it with you!

  1. Hahaha, I think 1.5 miles is AMAZING. I just cannot make myself run. I wish we live closer so you could help motivate me :)
