fun, fun, fun

Have y'all ever made photo books for your kids?

I'm in the process of working on Duke's first year photo book and I'm about ready for it to be over.  I got a Groupon for Snapfish a few months ago and, surprise, the deadline to use it is this Thursday!  So I'm trying to get my crap together.

Making photo books is not necessarily my forte.  I'm way too anal-retentive to do projects like this.  I've had to constantly repeat to myself that this is not a big deal and nobody is grading me.  However, because I thrive on rules and structure, I've created my own rubric:

1.  Put pictures of Duke in the book in order by month.
2.  At the end of each month, include my letter to Duke along with his yellow chair picture.
3.  NO CAPTIONS.  I can't do the "first bath" and the "first time to find feet" business.  There are baby books and first year calendars that have already asked me all of those bajillion questions.

Although I don't necessarily consider this process "fun," I really am enjoying looking through all of these pictures.  I know this book will be a treasure.

And speaking of fun, I've decided to give into them.  Fun, that is.  I can't really stand "We are Young," but "Some Nights" is a different story.  It's persistent.  It begs you to listen and bob your head and beat your steering wheel and it won't stop until you're finally screaming that anthem, "Woahh!  Ohhh-wooah!  Ohh-wooah!  Woahh!"  I spent the first few months immediately turning the radio station when that song came through my speakers.  Now, I just leave it.  No matter what you think about them, you can't deny that this song kind of pumps you up.  If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I have one last fun thing for you.  About a month ago, eShakti contacted me and asked if I'd like to try one of their items.  I haven't gotten around to styling it and taking pictures (translate: doing my hair and looking normal), so my review of the dress hasn't been written yet.  But I wanted to let all of you know that you can receive 20% off when you shop at eShakti by using this code:  MYDEVISING.  I looked around for just a bit yesterday and this skirt caught my eye.

Hope you guys can find something you like.  This offer only lasts until March 10, 2013 so get to shoppin'!

(Note:  Code has to be entered in the 'Promotional Code' box. No Minimum Order Value. The discount code is not case sensitive. The code can be used any number of times until the validity period.
