Another thing I had to refrain from was scratching myself. Last weekend, I came down with a case of poison ivy. This was my first time to get it and, unfortunately, it came from my backyard. It is terrible. It's been a little over a week now and I'm about ready to stop dousing my body in cream, taking a million pills, and not sleeping through the night. Waking up at 2 a.m. with an urge to violently scratch my body is not awesome.
So. I'm tired, itchy, and I look diseased. Colt is one lucky guy, I tell ya.
On Saturday, I woke up and ran 9.5 miles at Lake Hefner. It was amazing! It was one of those times when you think to yourself, this is why I run. I'm planning on writing a little update on my half marathon training later this week, so I'll give you all the details then.
I think one of my favorite parts of the weekend was this guy.
He had the giggles all weekend. I'm not sure I've ever seen him so giggly.
We got lots of good cuddles in, too.
Poison Ivy?! What the heck! You know, I think I may not be allergic to it, because after three summers hiking around at camp, I never got it and most people do at some point. Anyway - yuck. Sorry friend!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Duke is so freaking cute.
Yeah, it is pretty yuck. Hopefully it's almost gone!
