My EP is done!
I began recording back in June of 2011. But then my pregnant belly grew a lot. And then I had a baby. And then I thought I'd never sleep or do anything musical again. (Thanks for the positive thoughts, postpartum depression.) Needless to say, it took awhile to finish recording.
But today, ladies and gentlemen, I am here to say that it is finished.
Things to know about the EP:
It's me. It's not me trying to write like someone else. It's not me trying to sound like someone else.
It's me and Karlie (or Karlie and me). My lovely sister, Karlie, sings with me on 2 of the songs ("Mud Soup" and "You Knew It First").
It's simple. I sing and I play the piano. There are a few snaps, claps, and hits on the drum mixed in here and there. But for the most part, it's my voice and the keys. I wanted it to be what you would hear if you said, "Hey, Claire, sing a song for me." This is what you would get.
It's imperfect. While Aaron did use reverb and other fancy things I don't understand, there is no auto-tune. There are flaws here and there, and I'm okay with that. I wanted it sound real.
I hope you can find at least one song that you relate to, want to hum along with, or just want to keep on as background music as you clean the house. That would just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So, if you don't mind, do one (or all) of these things for me.
1. Listen to it and download it for FREE. (Listen/download on Noise Trade or Bandcamp.)
2. Comment here and let me know what you think.
3. Share the Noise Trade and Bandcamp links on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Pretty, pretty please?
Thanks for sharing in the excitement with me!
