weekend review - cuppies, jimmy's, and sandals

On Friday, we went to Home Creations to do a little interview and sing our jingle for them.  It was funny.

And can we all just talk about how I said the word "tweet"?  Annoying.

So far, it looks like that will be the end of the Home Creations Jingle saga.  We did our duties and picked up our cash monies.  Unless they decide they want us to be in an actual commercial, our fame is over.  However, we may or may not have entered another jingle contest.  Only time will tell.

Friday evening, I got to celebrate this lovely lady and her upcoming wedding day.

It was such a sweet time.  I got to see and talk with so many wonderful girls that I don't get to be with very often.  I left feeling so filled and so excited for Megan and Bryan's big day!

We woke up on Saturday morning and just hung around.  These two had a little playtime on the couch.

Saturday night, Colt, Karlie, and I got to play some music at Cuppies and Joe.  It was so much fun.

(Thanks, Megan, for the pic. :))

I may have a little video to share with you tomorrow.

I don't know how, but every Sunday I'm continuously blown away by my church family.  Colt and I both received many words of encouragement, blessing, and inspiration from others.  We were overflowing by the time we left.  So thankful to be a part of that community.

We drove separate cars so Colt took Duke home and I went by Jimmy John's to grab some lunch.  Except that I pulled into Jersey Mike's instead.  I walked in, stood there, and then acted like I got a phone call.  I fake talked on the phone, walked towards the door, and looked from side to side as if someone was meeting me there and wasn't sure where I was.  I continued this act until I made it all the way outside and into my car.  Embarrassing.  When I told Colt, he said, "You did all of that just so you could leave?"  Yes.

But seriously.  All of you know how VERY different Jersey Mike's is from Jimmy John's.  Mike's way?  No, thank you.  Buttery, luscious bread that only Jimmy can make?  Yes.

While driving home, the air conditioner swirled that buttery smelling bread around in my car.  Mmm.  And yes, I said air conditioner.  The weather is crazy here, folks.  We are not wearing jackets.  We are wearing sandals.  I'm trying not to complain too much since we've spent the last two summers practically boiling.

That night, Duke and I hung out and watched "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer."  It was his first time and I'm pretty sure he thought the reindeer were dogs.  He kept saying, "Dah!  Dah!"

(Our family's favorite scene:  "I want to be ... a dentist!")

  1. I watched "Rudolph" this weekend with Lucas. Our family's favorite scene "That's the problem. My name's Charlie. No one wants a Charlie-in-the-box!"

  3. Love the jingle and especially loved catching up at the shower. "Filled" was a great way to describe it! Such good medicine to spend an evening with girlfriends!
