weekend review - a thank you, some snow, and a wreath

The best news I received this weekend was that our Kickstarter was funded!  We're so grateful for all of our friends (and some strangers!) who helped support this project and share it with others.  We are so very excited to check this dream off of our list.  So far, we're still on track to have these done by Christmas!

And, on that note, our CD release concert will be at Cuppies and Joe on Saturday, December 21st during/after story time in the morning.  (We'll give an exact time once the date gets closer.)  We'd love to see you and your kids!

I've already had some people (who missed the whole Kickstarter thing) ask me how they can purchase a CD.  If you're wanting a hard copy, we can work out a little PayPal thing (or you can mail me a check) and I can mail you a CD.  If I normally see you in real life, I'm going to try to keep several with me at all times, so you can always purchase one from me like that.  Also, it will be on iTunes eventually, so that's an option as well.

It was really convenient that our Kickstarter campaign not only ended during Duke's nap time so I could be crazy and keep refreshing the page without interruption, but also that we were snowed in.  Snow/ice/sleet/whatever.  I love it all.  So when all the funds came in, I celebrated by taking a nap on our living room couch, knowing that our home was covered and surrounded by snow.

Oh, and don't worry, we made some time for the 3 of us to enjoy it together.

(the aftermath)

I ventured out to a little C-group girls night of wreath-making and fondue at Sara's house that night.  After doing the math, I think it ended up that each of us ate about a 1/2 lb. of cheese.  Plus the chocolate fondue.  Plus hot chocolate.  I woke up on Saturday not hungry for breakfast, which never happens.

(my wreath creation)

On Saturday, we watched the game.  (Bedlam always brings back these memories.)  I kind of thought OSU would win and Colt wanted to put Duke in an OSU shirt, so I gave in.  We taught Duke, "Go pokes!" that day and I had embraced being outnumbered.

And then OU pulled it off!  I don't have any real allegiance to the school since I didn't attend there, but my entire family is NUTS about OU, so it's kind of in my blood.  But not in my blood enough to know any names of any players or any stats or any advanced football vocabulary.  I just know when things are going well and when they're not.  What I'm trying to say is, I could either be the best person to watch a football game with or the worst.  You can ask Colt what he thinks about that.

We had a relaxing Sunday at church and I spent the evening getting ahead of many of my usual Monday chores.  I woke up this morning with an empty dishwasher, one load of laundry ready to fold from the dryer, a tidied house, all the meals planned, and all the groceries bought for the week.  Such a good feeling.

Now for the most important piece of information in this entire blog post:  THE SING-OFF STARTS TONIGHT!  If you guys haven't ever watched this show, you are completely weird and completely missing out.  I did a run-down of each episode last season and I'm planning on doing it again.  I'd love for you all to watch the episodes, read my posts, and let me know what you think!

    2. That wreath is awesome. I want one.
    3. Congratulations on hitting your goal! I am so sorry I couldn't post anything about it. I saw your email, but it was too late already, and now I feel super lame. But hurray! That's exciting. You're the first person I know who's used that Kickstarter thing. The concept intrigues me.

  2. Visiting from The Lady Okie comments section and I see you are a fellow Oklahoma blogger! :) I didn't graduate from OU but my husband is a HUGE fan so by marriage I have become a huge fan too, and it was a great game! Such fun snow pictures too. My son is only 7 months old but I'm excited for next winter when he might actually notice the snow and enjoy it!

  3. I am SO HAPPY that you all made it to your goal! I was so worried that it wouldn't happen, but I am so glad it did!

When I saw that fondue picture my first thought was "that has to be Sara's house" :)
