3 music-y things

I have 3 music-y things to discuss with you.

First, let's talk about how fun/great/hilarious/awesome it is that we won the Home Creations Jingle Contest.  We're so excited about it!  And the best part?  In a moment of Sunday afternoon laziness and zero creativity back in September, we entered ourselves as "The Porch Singers."  Because we were singing on a porch.  So that's probably how they'll refer to us.  Which is so cool, of course.  We have no idea what is to come of all of this besides our prize of cash monies.  But I'll be keepin' you posted!

So, The Girlie Show.  It was really fun.

Everything went really smoothly.  Except that by the time we were done unloading, setting up, playing, tearing down, and loading, I was sweating in my blazer and my wisdom tooth socket was beginning to throb.  But then Sara bought me a coke and a girl said we reminded her of a Sara Bareilles/Ingrid Michaelson mix.  So I felt better about life after that.  But really, I loved getting to play with Karlie.

We did some of my songs, some of her songs, and a song that we wrote together.  Sam was kind enough to take a video of that song, so here's "Mud Soup."

Remember, if you want to download my EP for free, just go to the "My Music" tab and get it from Noisetrade or Bandcamp.  Besides gigabytes, what do you have to lose?  Nothing.  If you don't like it, you can just delete it.  Then you've really lost nothing.  And regardless of if you keep it, it will tell me someone downloaded my album.  It's a win-win.

And since we're on the topic of music, the band I'm in (Mopak) is coming out with an album soon-ish.  We're planning on having a launch team to help us spread the word when it's done.  If you're on the launch team, you're expected to have some kind of an online presence, which already qualifies every single one of you reading this.  We'd love to have help tweeting, facebooking, instagramming, and pinning information about the album to as many people as possible.  So, if you're interested in getting our music early and helping us out with any of this, give me your email.  We'd really appreciate it!

Okay, I'm done.

I realize I haven't done many "baby" posts in awhile and it makes me feel weird if I abandon them for too long.  Posts about schedules, snacks, and weaning to follow!
