BFBN: can I require a good attitude without stifling my children's emotions?

http://amotherfarfromhome.com/2014/07/09/can-i-require-a-good-attitude-without-stifling-my-kids-emotions/

It's Babywise Friendly Blog Network week!  All week, each of us will be sharing posts on the same topic and directing our readers to the different blogs in the network.  Here's the schedule for the week:

Monday:  Valerie from Chronicles of a Babywise Mom
Tuesday:  Maureen from Childwise Chat
Wednesday:  Rachel from A Mother Far From Home
Thursday:  Emily from Journey of Parenthood
Friday:  Claire from My Devising

Rachel's post on attitude today is so great.  She says, "I think we can train our children to process their emotions in a healthy way while still being able to just buckle down and do what needs to be done."  I completely agree and that is certainly what I hope to achieve with my children.  Rachel lists some really practical ways we can deal with our kids' attitudes, and I love how clear she is with her end goals.  She says:

"The goal is for our children to:
  • exhibit a positive attitude;
  • be able to express their emotions;
  • feel understood and heard by their parents; and
  • not be ruled by their emotions and moods."
 Head on over to her blog to read the full post!
