living room - holes in the ceiling

As a part of our recent attack of some home improvements, Colt chose to do recessed lighting in the living room and music room.  So, we'll start with the living room.  Our living room only consists of these three lights.

If we want lighting anywhere else, we have to make it happen with lamps.  We haven't done a great job at this, seeing how the Suarezes accidentally left their lamp here from when they lived with us last summer.  And we've never given it back.  Such moochers, I know.  But, Megan, once these lights are in, your lamp is yours!  I'm sure you've been waiting on the edge of your seat for it.

Last week, Colt measured out where the lights would be and cut the holes.

In the next day or two, the lights will be in.  Guys, I can't tell you how excited I am for this.  Our fall colors are a bit on the dreary side (which I talked about here) so I can't wait to see what some light will do to the room.

We have many more hopes and dreams for our living room, but one of them may involve scraping wallpaper.  And I'm just not sure I'm ready to repeat that process just yet.  But who knows.  I've been known to take on more than I can handle, so what the heck?  What's one more room of dreadful scraping?  Anyway, for now we'll focus on lights.  I can't wait to see the finished product!
